TMI alert, plz forgive me!
I might've mentioned this in TTC... Last summer i got put back on metformin and shortly after starting, i got AF, and for the first time i got a normal cycle! Well, that stopped in November, which was my last period. I didnt start bleeding again till the 10th of this month. It was enough blood to make me think it was an actual period but after that first day, it was pretty light.. sometimes it got a little heavier but never enough for a tampon. Thursday night it had stopped, and it was still like that friday morning so i thought it had ended, so i took off the pad. Last night i noticed my panties wet so i went to the bathroom and it had soaked through to my pants, and no more than 3 seconds after sitting down a HUGE clot fell out.. So i put on a pad and went back to watchin tv.. bout an hour later i went to the bathroom and another clot the same size came out.. That time i put in a new tampon and new pad.
Told my sister this, and she told me it reminded her of the fibroid tumor she got years ago (which caused her partial hysterectomy) So now im flipping out inside, scared to death (considering we've been ttc for over 5 yrs) that it might be that. Has anyone had this? Maybe its just my pcos? Or the metformin? Can't call the clinic till monday so i have another day ahead of worrying lol

I had a fibroid inside my uterus that caused a lot of pain and bleeding. I had many ultrasounds over the years looking for what was causing my pain/cramping/ludicrously heavy bleeding and no one ever saw it. After I lost my first pregnancy at 11 weeks (after seeing a heartbeat at 7 weeks) I went to an RE and they did a saline u/s (which was one of the most painful procedures ever BUT!) they saw the fibroid no one else had noticed and the RE said "I am amazed that you were even able to get pregnant with that in there, much less have a baby with a heartbeat that made it to 11 weeks"
But wait...here's the GOOD NEWS
He did a hysteroscopy where they went in with a laser and removed the fibroid. It was a fairly quick procedure, my recovery time was 1 day. 4 cycles later I was pregnant with Cash, and this time around we got pregnant on our first cycle trying. So if it IS a fibroid, it does NOT mean the death of your pregnancy dreams by any means. If anything, it might be the answer. They can remove them fairly easily (though I'd definitely see a specialist for it) and that might be what has been hindering your TTC all this time.
Keep us posted!

I have had fybroids (I got to see them with my first U/s with Aidan...I had three on my uterus..I was 7 weeks pregnant and the doctor didn't seem alarmed...she said they wouldn't interfere with the baby. By 13 weeks, they were gone.) I pass clots and have horrible periods SOMETIMES...not all the time. I think that's what happened this last period. It was pretty bad and I passed huge clots (but there was horrible cramping too).
Fybroids aren't necessarily dangerous. I suggest seeing a doctor to see how many/how bad they are.

Don't freak out...my mom had a hysterectomy because of these. Now, my doctor said that is the LAST resort.

Yeah i'm probably worrying over nothing.. The last doctor (at the free clinic) i saw said that i need to lose weight to get pregnant.. i had an ultrasound sometime after summer last year and it was normal so i guess if one popped up after it would be pretty small? idk its probably nothing and im gonna try to stop worrying. :))

I should also mention that I have 4 on the outside of my uterus. External ones don't interfere with pregnancy, aside from causing some extra pain. It's the internal ones that can be problematic with conceiving and gestating, and those are the ones that are easier to remove, thankfully.

With my PCO's I had huge nasty clots all the time. I never thought much about them, since I wasn't ttc. If I remember correctly my OB told me it was normal to have the clots. But I would call Ur doc tomorrow just to be sure.

I don't have any problems with fibroids or PCOS. I'm one of the lucky ones that has regular periods. However, I do usually pass rather large clots. On heavy days I can soak through a super tampon in an hour. Blood clotting is caused by blood that pools. So where you have gone so long without AF, I'm not surprised you're passing large clots. Just something to think about. It really could be nothing.
