Ok, so the deal is this. I went to the JC Penney outlet and found this crib:

http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=62438&CatID=62709&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=18a620f&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=external%7c62702%7c75245&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=46&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=external|62702|62709

And this is the crib that Averie has:

http://www5.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=62438&CatID=62709&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=1607705&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=external%7c62702%7c62709&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=16&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=external|62702|62709

The crib I found today is in a cherry finish and is selling for $189.99 but I have a coupon for 25% off for tomorrow. I think the "cherry" finish on the crib I am looking at is a bit lighter than Averie's crib and the dresser in that room but it is a cherry finish.

What would you do? I can get the crib for about $142 IF it's still there tomorrow but it's not going to match the finish of the crib and dresser in the room precisely yet will be similar? :sigh: I am thinking that I still just want to wait. They had FIVE cribs there today and this was the only one I liked/matched the finish I need. I keep thinking, I have PLENTY of time!

Opionions??

If it's not totally what you want, I'd probably wait.

Also are they sharing a room? Do you plan to convert both cribs to full beds eventually, or when they are ready to move out of a crib will you just get another type of twin bed? I'm asking because if they are sharing, you may want them to "match" however if you are only using the crib short term then you might want the most affordable one. I guess it is a matter of how long you will use it. The crib Talon had was a convertable one, but we choose to just take it down and get him a car bed, so I'm glad we didn't spend more than we did on the crib. ;) We will use it again though with the next baby.

I don't know if I made any sense, or just talked in circles thinking about both sides. :hehe:

For that price I would snag it! You might never find the exact match, kwim?? (unless you buy the same crib!)

We fully intend to convert Averie's crib. Also, she's definitely not ready for a toddler bed yet so that's why we're not upgrading her and just handing down the crib at this point. I would love to just get the matching crib but then again, the price triggers the cheapskate in me. YET (this is ME talking in circles) I can't help but think that if I got the one that matches hers I would have spent a total of $550 for the TWO cribs; that's like getting both for the price of one AND they are both going to be with the kids for quite some time since they convert.

Bah, decisions decisions decisions :hehe:

Ok...well I just read through your circles and I think you talked yourself into the matching one. I think you will be happier with that one in the long run. ;)

I'd go for it. I wouldn't be able to pass up that deal.

I'd go for it too. I couldn't pass up a deal like that either. $200+ is a big jump in price for a slight difference in the shade of the crib.

I would also say go for it, it gives this baby her/his own special bed, that doesn't exactly match Averie's.

I would totally buy the crib for that killer deal!

And I'd like to come visit you and your JCPenney outlet!! :hehe: jealous!
