So the pooping in the toilet was going fine, he went twice kind of at the last minute and cried about it but then he was happy that he did it. And then the last time he went it was no big deal, he didn't fuss about it. And in between times he'd hold it until I put him in his bedtime pull up. So I figured we were done.
In the last week he has pooped in his underwear or on the floor 4 times.
The first time we were at the playground and he was upset and cried and I told him it was okay and accidents happen, etc ... the second time I was in the garage doing laundry and I heard him calling me and was calling for him to come to me & he didn't and then he was crying and I found that he'd pooped on the floor in the living room. I was upset, but I figured he'd been calling me to tell me he needed to poop and went while he was walking around looking for me because he couldn't hold it anymore.
But the last two times, he's totally done it on purpose, acting like he has to poop and I try to get him into the bathroom, physically try to put him on the toilet while he screams and cries and says NOOOOOOOOOOO he's not ready and I stay with him and keep trying to get him on the toilet and then the second my back is turned he goes in his pants. Today I actually caught him right as he started and set him on the toilet so the poop went in, and gave him a sticker for his chart and was all happy and praising him. I asked him a dozen times if he was done when he got off the toilet & he said he was.
Then I put a new pair of underwear on him and he pooped in them.
I am just soooo frustrated and I don't want to be mean and yell at him and make pooping like this big traumatic ordeal, but... I mean if he doesn't care about pooping in his underwear, what do I do? I don't want to put him back in pull ups all the time now that he is 100% on peeing in the toilet.
