Isabella hasn't nursed since Friday- every time I try to nurse her she shakes her head no and signs "all done". My heart is breaking. I so wanted to make it to 2 years with her. I know if it were not for my pregnancy we would have made it. :(

I know I'm going to feel so guilty the first time she gets sick too :(

:hugs:

I know exactly how you feel. I was so sad when Matt didn't want to nurse anymore and I definitely blame it on my pregnancy. We stopped when I was 14 weeks.

Awww don't feel bad! You did super awesome! I made it to 18 months exactly with Cash (and the last 2 months were token 2 minutes or less at bedtime) and he is still healthy as a horse. You got her off to a great start, you have nothing to feel bad about.

My boys are sick a lot and you know how long R has nursed now. So, please, don't feel guilty when she does get sick. Maybe it won't be until this fall/winter or longer than that!

It broke my heart when T-man was all done. He was only 5 months old. That guilt still eats me up. I know it was the mini-pill that ruined our breastfeeding journey. BUT he's happy and healthy and he loves me...and I love him. That's all that matters, Mama. She loves you, she's happy and healthy....repeat to yourself as many times as you need.

Auw! You did great! She's going to be great because of this!

Hasn't she been sick before? with RSV or something like that? You were nursing then! Sometimes they just get sick! Your BM has done wonders and will help her wonders, but dont beat yourself up if she gets sick once in a while!:support:

Aww it's bittersweet when they stop! I think what did us in a couple months ago were her teeth. It would hurt her to nurse so she was finally like no way! :support:

I always wanted to add that you did an amazing job!! Remember the struggles you went through and how far you've come. Most people don't make it past day 1 but you stuck through it. :support::support::support:

Thanks ladies. I feel bad for feeling guilty because i know there are so many women out there who never was able to get BFing to work. But it's just something I'm so passionate about its hard to see it come to an end.

Oh well, at least in about 5ish months I'll get to do it all over again. Lets hope my nipples don't suddenly get feeling so I have to go through the new nursing nipples Oy

:hehe: Good thinking there with the nursing nipple pain! I wonder if you'll get to skip that!

I miss nursing too....my saving grace was also the thought of another baby one day! You're lucky. A 5 month break and then right back at it!

Aww... Be proud of what you did, not sad/guilty for what you didn't. :support:

Oh, and FWIW - no new nursing nipples this time for me unlike the raw hamburger I dealt with the last time. :twothumbs:

That is definitely good to know.

Since i had flat nipples with Isabella I also had the joy of her "pulling them out" with her suck. So at least they're out now. Cause Lord Almight that did not feel good. Now I've got perma headlights

:hugs: It is heartbreaking and I'm sure it's even worse when it's their decision. There will be some times that you will say "it's kinda nice to not be nursing anymore" but it will be a while. :support:

I'm jealous that you made it that far! I only made it three months with Lily because I had a staph infection after her delivery, and only five months with Ru.

I hope the next(if there is one) baby I can make it at least a year.

Me too! And I had no idea I had flat nipples until they told me in the hospital!
