The comments about "THOU SHALT NOT BREAST FEED AT THE TABLE" are pretty entertaining

:hehe: Good recommendations.
I also follow the "THOU SHALL GO OUT TO DINNER BEFORE 6 WHEN BRINGING ANYONE UNDER 10" commandment :thumb:
I am a mom, but I'm also a woman who likes to go out and enjoy myself sometimes. If I go to a 'nice' place at 9, I don't want to listen to a whiney kid who should have been in bed an hour ago and the mom knows it!
I don't even notice, though, if someone breastfeeds at the table. Most women I know don't just flop their breast out and start feeding. Being discrete is key.

I may agree with some of the things the author says but the whole tone of the article is obnoxious. I don't know, there's just something about the whole thing that bugs me and it would bug me without the breastfeeding comment.

After my experience with the old bitty at the restaurant while I was with my friend, I hate when people who don't have kids tell people who do what to do. I would have totally expected more from Better Homes and Garden.
That being said, I agree with Tes' commandment. If you're going to go out to eat *try* to do it at a time your child is happiest and hungriest.
Oh and the writer is an idiot, the MacClarean double wide is just a double umbrella stroller. No bulk like she claims. :hehe:

Hilarious! Thanks for sharing. I'm definitely guilty of 1) breast-feeding table-side, 2) blocking walkways with a stroller, and 3) letting my child roam (just a little). Oh well! :)

But the author is talking about *fine* dining.
We've gone maybe two times with the kids. LOL
I thought like this BEFORE I had kids. I wonder if this person has kids
I have to disagree with the poster above me about breastfeeding at the dinner table. At a restaurant, I don't want to see it at the table. It is insensitive to other diners, and it is distracting.
Then why look? Keep your eyes on your fries buddy!
Not sure if any of you remember but I felt so sad/horrible when my mother told me to take Matt to the bathroom and feed him. I also felt angry and told her to take her food to the bathroom. :puke: Who wants to eat sitting in a bathroom?!

Yeah, me too. Though when he screams bloody murder one of us takes him outside to walk around. I really do hate eating out with him. It's extremely stressful.

Yeah, I was wondering where the 10th one was because I read that ladies comment about BFing and went looking for it.
