Today is the last day of school for the kids. Well, my stepson has to go until a half-day on Monday. I am excited and worried all at the same time. We've had some MAJOR struggles lately and with my pregnancy complications I am concerned about keeping everyone busy, occupied and content over summer break. In previous years I have always had the opportunity to take them on trips, getaways, "field trips" and activities.
So, those of you that have school aged kids, when are/were they done for summer? What types of activities do you have planned for summer break? Even if your kids aren't school-aged yet, what type of plans do you have for the summer season?
:hugs:
Maybe the older kids can keep a look out for the little ones??
With the boys they both go to camp and then to the community pool...I plan on joining them at said pool this summer :teeth:

 Tyler still has regular season school through the next week (maybe two??). I forgot that the schools up in the more northern area are on different schedules than the south! Down there school ends in the beginning of May. Anyway, I went ahead and enrolled him in a summer program at the school he goes to. He will be going M-F, until noon. Every Monday is a field trip, Wed is craft day I think, etc. Essentially a half-day summer camp really. He needs to be occupied more than what I can accommodate with Lily's schedule, so I gave up the guilt and signed him up :hehe: With her, I'll probably go to the library story time some days..
I seriously don't know how you do it with the different ages. I had just said this to a friend of mine with four kids too. Between Lily needing her nap (she only takes one, and it's like 3 or 4 hours long) and keeping them both occupied with activities that suit both of their ages, I'm exhausted! It was easier last year when she was a baby, she just went along with everything :hehe: With the toddler age and the preschool age, it's crazy!

Are city pool is going to be our new home. I can just sit and play with the baby and the other two just run and play. (they do have to check in with me) if we don't go to the pool the old two just go outside to play.

We haven't really ventured out into this heat either. I *try* because he gets so cranky if we don't go outside and since he doesn't care for tv there's not much I can do...(I should strap him in the car and go for a drive with the portable dvd player )

YAY! Our last day is in 2 weeks :excited:
For summer, Dylan is doing a lot of traveling with people. Colorado with my mom, Canada with her dad, the desert with me.
Other than that, we'll just be hanging out :hula:
