View Full Version : Vaccinations
Matthew has to get his 2 month shots next week. ( I think there is 4 or 5...I can't remember)
How do they do this? 4 separate shots or are they combined?? I am not looking forward to his crushed little red face :(

Some are combined and some aren't - I thin the most the girls got are two in each leg - but seriously, those pedi nurses are super fast and it's over in a second.

Yeah, I think it's 2 in each leg. And they are really fast...still breaks your heart though.:( Ava was always calmed down a couple seconds after I picked her up, so I think it only bothers them for a short time. :bluehug:

I look away, lol! It's soo fast, though, and Lily had two in each leg.
Oh, and if he gets a little lump there it's normal, in case they don't tell you. Tyler's pedi didn't warn me & I was convinced he had some disease

Ben had 2, one in each leg, but I'm pretty sure our vaccines are completely different here. Oh, and he cried for all of 1.5 seconds. I was prepared for him to scream his head off but he didn't.

Charlie got 2 in each leg. I remember getting the look of horror like "MOM WTF was THAT?!" but as soon as he had registered that it hurt she was done and I picked him up and he was fine. I do remember that he was pretty cranky and drowsy after those vaccinations, though.
Good luck! :support:
Ditto to the two in each leg. They are super fast and he usually doesn't cry until they are done or almost done and then is fine less than a minute of being picked up and cuddled. The first couple times he had vaccines I was so nervous and made dh come with me for moral support. It was not nearly as tramatic as I thought it would be. I usually give him Tylenol right before and every 4 to 6 hours the rest of that day. When he was little the vaccines did make him more sleepy and nap more.
Oh yeah, I was gonna ask if I should give him some tylenol. I was thinking of doing it but wasn't sure what the protocol was. Thanks Leah!

They usually had two people in there, one for each leg. They would give him one at the same time then hurry and stick him with the next.
Shots suck. :bluehug:
