View Full Version : When do you start to lose?

So I am getting used to my "new" body. I am not as upset about it anymore (but I still make stupid degrading remarks). So anyway when does the weight vanish magically? How come some people say the weight just comes right off!

I gained a lot! And by a lot I mean 60lbs :eyeroll: I am also breastfeeding and I heard you should lose weight with that but I don't see anything happening. I went down to I think 175 at my 6 week PP check up. I know I should exercise but I am so lazy when it comes to that and Matthew doesn't let me put him down at all. I also have no time/motivation to prepare meals in advanced. I'm trying to eat healthy but it's so hard when for 9 months I was stuffing my face.

I was thinking of buying a baby and mommy exercise dvd. Do you think it would be worth it? If I didn't have this double chin it wouldn't half as bad cause the flab I can cover and suck in with a girdle.

I'm still waiting on the "loosing" part of BFing too. Both times it hasn't worked in my favor and now I remain 31 lbs too fat. I think something as little as a half-four walk each day contributes to the 'loosing' - yet who has time. A DVD might work well - I've gone that route too.

I dropped my pregnancy weight within the first 6 months, I think, but stopped at my pre-pregnancy weight and I'm still there almost 2 years later (see my huge ass post... :hehe:).

For me the big thing is just getting up off my ass. Do you have a carrier? Put Matthew in that and walk around. I also stopped buying crap food and, as hard as it is, I started prepping things when I got home from the grocery store. For example I clean and store veggies so I can just grab them and eat without having to do any work.

Well, I hate to say it, but I was back at my pre-preg weight by 3 months pp. Now, that being said, I am still built completely differently, and none of my old clothes fit. I hate my body, and I'm too lazy to do anything about it. So I guess the answer IS to get moving, but where the motivation comes for that, I haven't a clue. Sorry I'm not much help! I wish there were a pill we could all take, but that probably wouldn't be too safe.

I gained almost 50 lbs and lost 30 by 6 wks PP without trying. I lost another 10 by about 4 months PP, again without much effort other than being busy with baby and stroller walks. The last 10 lbs wouldn't come off until I had to give up dairy while breastfeeding because my baby couldn't tolerate it. It was hard to give all my favorite things but made it easy to get rid of the weight and I was motivated intead of how I normally am with diets because it was for him and not just me.

Like others though, even though I lost all the weight, things are not the same. I still have extra fat and squishy muffin tops around my waist line that were not half as bad before. Which means I need larger sizes to accomodate my new (much less welcomed) waistline. ;) I need to get motivated to do something.

It took a while to get my weight off. I was jealous of Heather when she was back to her pre-pregnancy jeans when I hadn't at 5 months PP (PUNK!). Well, I didn't lose the last 5-10lbs until after I stopped breastfeeding and my body is still so soft and squishy. It's not the body I had before, but I better just stop whining and deal with it.

I think ultimately we all have to get off of our butts and do something, but who can really do it?

Well, I'm sitting on my fat ass surfing MH. I guess that's not going to help with firming things up, is it? :teeth:

I'm still waiting, lol. I lost all my weight with Tyler almost right away, but it's a lot slower with this one. Also, with breastfeeding Lily, I have a much bigger appetite. So, I'll probably just complain about it for awhile longer :hehe:

I think just walking will be your best bet. I take walks with the kiddos all the time, and if Lily is not wanting the stroller, I just moby her. Maybe a dvd, I haven't tried that yet. Let me know how it works!

We go for walks a lot but I feel bloated like a blimp. I was using Breastfeeding as an excuse but eating a bag of chips isn't benefiting anyone, right?

I gained 55 lbs when I was pregnant with Conner... He turned a year old on Sunday and I am still a fat ass. I hate my body and have complained about made remarks about myself for the past year. I still wear the jeans I bought after I had Conner (they are a tad big now but not much). I don't ever expect to be in my PrePregnancy jeans because they were size one. With this LARGE ass it won't be going in a size one...ever.

So basicly you just gotta get off your butt and find motivation to do so. I myself am still searching for that. Feeling horrible about myself just hasn't helped me yet.

Maybe get a video to do some workouts at home. That's what I want to do.
