So my baby boy has been really crabby lately. At first I thought he just was being a turd, but then I realized that something was wrong. His nose is running clear snot, he has little light eczema patches going slightly up his leg and face, a little bumpy rash thing on his other leg, and he's just being a turd.
My head has been hurting lately, but I am not sure if that's just stress or what is up.
So, he's 17 months old...what do I do? I'm thinking I might call the dr tomorrow and ask, but I don't know if I'm worried about nothing and I don't want to be that hypochondriac mom.

Hmmm, IDK. Knowing me, I'd call. But you know I'm paranoid like that. Could very well be allergies, though. I've noticed Cohen sneezing more since the flowers are blooming.

If it were me I would probably call too just to see what they think. I have no idea what they do for allergies in young children though.
Just call. It doesn't hurt to find out but it could be a combination of heat rash and allergies. Who knows. I don't know what they give kids for allergies. I can ask my MIL she works at an allergists office.

I think I will. DH and I had bad allergies as kids and even now I get bad headaches and DH gets the itchy eyes and all the other stuff. Basically, Charlie's out of luck!
Talon has bad allergies to the point where the repeated fluid in his sinuses and ear, sits there and gives him ear infections. My doctor recommended Children's Benedryl first and I gave 1/2 teason at nap and bedtime (since it can cause drowsiness) and it helped a little but he still had problems with fluid and he has eczema. Well, the doc said it was time to try something a little stronger and he takes Children's Zyrtec in the am and rx Singular at night. This combo seems to be helping.
You probably want to talk with your dr. or you could try one of the over the counters like Children's Claritin or Zyrtec (the dose my dr recommended is 1/2 teaspoon) and see if that does he trick. ;)

From what I understand they can't do much testing wise until babies are 2 years old because the tests aren't always conclusive. I'm sure that some things will show up as an allergy and be true but something can also show as not being an allergy when in fact it is. Because of that we have to wait until after Ben's 2nd birthday to have him tested for any allergies (my DH is allergic to peanuts).
As far as I know eczema is usually a sign of an allergy or intolerance. It may be a mild intolerance though and easily avoided.

It probably is allergies. I'd call and see what his Doctor says. Poor guy, I hope he feels better soon!

Ditto to the calling, it sounds like allergies.

Called the doctor. It wasn't my doctor because she wasn't there, but they said that it can either be "cold or allergies" No kidding! So they said I could give him some Benadryl. I'll go buy it tomorrow. He seemed better today, but we didnt' go outside today, so who knows! :idontknow:

If he was fine today without going outside, I would take him outside tomorrow and see what happens. That might be able to give you a better idea.
