View Full Version : What do I do with my child?
OMG I don't know what to do with Matthew. He is sooooooooooooooooo fresh it isn't even funny.
If you don't pay attention to him he screams at the top of his lungs. He also now loves to smack and spit and it's pissing me off. I don't want to raise a little beast. I'm so embarrassed by this. I hope this passes...I really don't want to be on Nanny 911 or something.

Ugggg :support: Nathaniel went through a spitting stage and a biting stage. He bit me one day and left a huge mark.

Ignore, ignore, ignore. I know that sounds dreadful and impossible at the same time but he's testing his boundaries and is quickly learning how to get IMMEDIATE responses. :support:
I am right there with you, Averie has been a turd lately too and it's SO HARD to follow my own advice but I am trying! :hugs:

Hey, I just made this same exact post the other day! :hehe:
Jo, our second boys better be ANGELS!
That's all I have for ya...I'm struggling with the same stuff. :support:
I do try to ignore it but the constant whining/crying stings my ears. I know he's teething also but he's just been so bad lately it's driving me up the wall.

I have no advice. I'm good with ignoring my children :lolcry:
Hey, I'm a teacher, I have to ignore or I'd go mad.

Shelby's going through a spitting phase right now. I hate it!

Matthew is sleeping next me to right now and I moved him over because his legs were on top of me and he actually bolted up (on his belly) and made the spitting noise. :hehe: Not funny but sorta funny.

J is in a pinching phase and i HATE it!! when he gets really mad he'll come up and squeeze my arms with both hands! :hehe: it's hard to not laugh, but it really isn't funny i don't want him to think it's ok to pinch.
So i sympathize with you :support:

I did my best to ignore it. It sucked and it was tough sometimes but I figured any reaction would just prolong the phase. Blah. I hated that stage. At least I've got about a year before I have to deal with that again. :hehe:
Ok, so it ends right? I never had either of the boys do this! I just feel like he's going to be one of those kids that NEVER EVER listen!!

That's just with you and Jerry. :hehe:
When he's older, his teachers will RAVE about him and you'll think :wtf: "Whose kid are you talking about?"
Dylan's teachers always talk about how helpful she is and polite and sweet and mature.
MY KID?! Cause at home she's a snot (not all the time but yea) At least my parenting is working!

DD bites...She bit me the other day when I took something from her. She throws fits and bangs her head into the floor, busted her lip doing that once. She will scream at me if I go near the computer or grab a Wii remote!
Jo- you are not alone. Jack has been hitting me, kicking and arching his back in disapproval at everything i do :( As a matter of fact, this morning i almost cried because i felt like he didn't like me  My friends with children his age reassure me that it is the age... i was embarrassed as all get out too. :support: I hope it gets better soon for your sake, and mine :hehe:

Sam bit the dickens out of me once. He wouldn't let go. He was about 14 months old at the time, and I smacked his bottom, hard enough to startle him and get him to let go. Then, I held his face in my hands and said very, very sternly WE DO NOT BITE! Do you understand? That was the end of biting.
