Jacob's 6 month status *with pics*

Jacob had his 6 month appointment on Monday. I had already posted that he has to have a specialist visit at Children's Mercy for his head.

Other than that, he's doing great. He's a little on the small side. He weighed in at 15 lbs and 13 oz. He was 25 and a quarter inches long.

He's in the 25th percentile for weight, up from the 20th percentile at 4 months. He's in the 10th percentile for height, down from the 20th percentile at 4 months. He has a large head apparently, because he was in the 30th percentile for head size.

My kids are shrimps! I can't even blame Jake's on being premature, since he was barely 4 weeks early. Shelby still isn't even on the growth charts.

He's catching up developmenally, and is grabbing things well now, and is sitting up unassisted as of this week! He can sit for about 5 minutes at a time.

He's eating solids well, and even had his first taste of non-purees the other day. He ate a few black beans that were cooked really mushy and sucked on a piece of peach. He loved them. I can't wait until he can start picking up food by himself, and trying all kinds of new things!

6 month pictures!

He is adorable but I am not seeing what they are talking about with his head. It looks normal to me! Regardless....I still think he is a cutie patootie!!!

You only notice his head from the back. It is on one side, and there is a large bulge, and a ridge running from the top down. He also has a really flat spot in the center. It isn't terribly noticeable anymore, so I'm hoping they say that he doesn't need a helmet.

He's so cute. And he really doesn't sound that small to me, LOL -- my niece was 12 lbs. at her 6 month checkup!! Not even on the scale!

I think we'll hold off on that for awhile. Hopefully we can keep MIL from feeding him again. Next time it will probably be a chicken leg or something.
